A little life

i ought to make a list of things i wish i had learned sooner.
nor regretting not knowing them sooner,
but to think how much i’ve been through.
i went to school, i hugged my friends and then the world collapsed.

we never came back.
the world ends every day,
as soon as consciousness leaves my body,
it’s like my body does too,
to wake up to a new brave world
not to a completely different one, but to a different setup.
even when i’m aware of how minuscule my existence is,
i can’t keep myself from feeling like it’s the greatest tragedy in history.
we’ll wake up to a better joke, to a better response.
we’ll wake up to a ship we made to wreck.
to pieces, our pieces.
nothing but work that we owe to each other.

it’s all random chaos,
be kind.
